When choosing a campsite you should think about what sort of facilities you will need. Most sites include toilet and shower facilities as well as fresh water. You may want to look for a site that allows barbecues and that has a launderette and a shop. Some sites offer sports facilities, a shop and a bar. A few even have restaurants as well as other facilities. Choose a campsite in a good location that is close to all the attractions you want to visit or that is near to one of the five National Parks. New Mexico is a popular place for walking and hiking. The White Sands National Park is an area that is filled with gypsum sand. There are plenty of geological and archaeological sites to view in New Mexico. If you are a nature lover, you may wish to visit the Kiowa National Grasslands or one of the other seven national wildlife preserves. In the Rio Grande, you may have the chance to see some unusual migratory birds at the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.
